Sir,

With reference to Mr. (afterwards Viscount) Harcourt's despatch No.198 of 11th July, 1913, regarding the leave of the Governor's Private Secretary and Aide-de-Camp, I have the honour to inform you that I propose to regard these officers as eligible for six weeks' full pay leave in respect of each period of twelve months' resident service, subject to a maximum accumulation of three months' full pay leave in respect of a completed period of 24 months' resident

service, and I request your sanction to make provision in the Estimates for 1929 for acting pay accordingly, in order to avoid the necessity of approaching the Finance Committee of the Legislative Council for a supplementary vote.
